Plants vs. Zombies Wiki

Just giving my thoughts about this wiki.

Mainspace[]

Articles are pretty clean these days, but the worst problem is still here; people are using SunShroom, Sun-Shroom, Cabbage-Pult, etc. I really hate that. I mean, is it really hard to remember that name? Or people are lazy? Or maybe they do that on purpose? It's just so easy to remember plant names, but some people can't do, and I don't understand why.

Less badge cheaters. For my first three to four months there were tons of them. Now, there's almost none. While I still see some people farming them, it's no longer a big problem. I'm happy with that.

Cheating Lucky Blovers. This is no longer a problem too. In the past people like ThePurplePi made random comments to get Lucky Blovers, because of the "cheat." Lucky Blovers are supposed to be based on your luck, and I really like this feature.

Big changes on the articles. After some thread has been supported to change something in the pages, most of the job I have to do by myself. At least Someone456 helps too, but other people are just slacking off and don't help us, even the creators of the threads. I always hope that someone will help me, but nope. My hopes fly away.

Chat[]

The best place to speak with people. It really helps me to communicate with my friends and even find new ones. I'm really happy that it's no disabled.

Emoticons is a really nice feature. It makes chatting more fun. However, adding emoticons is a trouble, since not of the administrators add them, and since it's a MediaWiki page, content moderators cannot edit it. I'm still waiting for Garden Warfare emoticons, admins.

Forums[]

Oh boy, another nice place. I really love the discussions about changing stuff on this wiki. It's always interesting to talk about this kind of stuff. It also helps me to see what was happening before I joined this place.

On the other hand, I hate "per" votes, especially on the promotion threads. I want to see their own opinion about the user, not using other person's vote. Is it so hard to say why do you thing they should or shouldn't be a staff member? At least they could use other user's vote they like and use it as a draft, then re-write it as they want it to be. It would be at least better than a per vote.

Just do it or dumb ideas threads are somewhat annoying. Although I've made a just do it vote before, now I realize that I have to do is ask Someone456 or Brainulator9 about it. Like these days we say, be bold about obvious things that are needed.

On a lot of voting threads, there's tons of users who don't even know what's it all about. I can see this very well on promotion threads. People chat with the user who's running for staff, see that they're nice and vote support. I freaking hate this logic. You need to watch how the user edits, how active are they, their attitude, and other stuff like this. This is how we get "useless" staff members.

Users[]

And now, let's go to the fun part (not really). Some of the users have some of the problems above and below. Of course, I'm not urgently asking them to be like I said; all of us have some problems, we are not perfect. I don't even want everyone to change, we need a mixture of users to make the wiki more interesting.

Let's take a look at staff members. Eh, I'm really disappointed with a lot of them. More than a half are not active in mainspace enough (only talking about the ones who have to be active there). You guys didn't get these rights just to look cooler, you got them to help the wiki. To be honest, some people only edited to get enough edits and get the staff rights. Then, they don't even go there anymore. At least discussion and chat mods do not a bad job in forums and chat.

Some of our new content moderators are barely active in mainspace. They got the rights for a good reason, right? And people who say that there's nothing to edit are horribly blind. There are new edits with grammar errors every day. There will always be something to edit. Always.

I hate some of the people's attitude. Like, one user thinks that he knows better at edits than staff members do. I do agree that some of the staff doesn't have much experience yet, but still.

Others[]

This one is not importing to other users, but I don't find users with who I can chat. I like talking about this wiki, but some of my "friends" don't like discussing in that topic. Most of the people have best friends with who they get along perfectly, but I just can't find one.

I don't like these day wiki's backgrounds. I feel like we should add Plants vs. Zombies, Plants vs. Zombies 2, Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, and Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 plants and zombies, since they're the current available games. I do agree that we shouldn't add Chinese content though.

I feel like we need more fun activities. It's plain boring without fun games and stuff. I really liked the weekly discussion idea, since it adds more possibilities to communicate with other users. I really think we should "weekly games" or something similar. I'm sure that it would be fun.

In conclusion, I really like this wiki. It sure has some disadvantages, but it has improved since my first day here. Thanks for reading.
