Plants vs. Zombies Wiki

Sorry guys, but no anniversary drawing or much this year. Stress really got to me so I wasn't able to do much.

However, a surprise trip to the arcade happened, and I came accross these again... Honestly, I don't really like these bootlegs. But in a world like this, they won't stop popping out.

Now, this time around it's not just bootleg t-shirts or bootleg toys people know a lot around here. I also feel estranged on how we still have bootleg toys on our mainspace galleries.

This time, just like the title says, it's.... PLANTS VS. ZOMBIES BOOTLEG ARCADE MACHINES.

I'm not even kidding, these things stick out to me whenever I go to Timezone to do stuff. I never played these once in my life, only took photos when none of my family members are looking. (Probably, I don't know, I've seen one of them have their demo mode on?) I've honestly never seen another person play one of these, either, but they honestly look so similar to other games that exist that aren't just Plants vs. Zombies. So whatever I explain them as, might not exactly be what the game is about. There seems to be no proof for any of these even being official, either.

Zombie Tycoon[]

ZombieTycoon Bootleg PVZ Arcade Machine

These specific arcade machines of Zombie Tycoon are from Timezone Alabang Town Center (the main one, not the one near the cinema).

I couldn't get a good picture because I didn't have a good camera. It's basically a reskin of Fruit Mania, but with zombies. If you don't know what Fruit Mania is, it's basically a virtual coin pusher with the occasional bonus tickets from boxes and bonus wheel spins. If you time it well enough, you can make the tokens hit whatever's on the roulette (in this case zombies) and defeating them will cause one of those bonus tickets boxes fall down. Somehow it even has the official art of Sunflower and a Zombie on the cabinet, but they're not sued.

[1] Here's a link to something that can explain the game better than I could. Of course China's seemingly involved.

"Peashooter" and "Ice Man"[]

Peashooter and Snow Pea Bootleg Arcade Machines

This has to be one of the worst arcade machines I've ever seen.

While there are machines of Peashooter and Ice Man on the lower floors of Alabang Town Center, I couldn't get pictures of them since I was with my mom's friend's kids. But here are the ones from Timezone SM Mall of Asia.

Presenting, one of the worst arcade machines I've ever seen, Peashooter and Ice Man! These basically just look like generic shooters where you use that.... peashooter thing to shoot zombies, and of course these are shooters that spray out water. Screenshots also show of having to choose a level and how horrible it all looks.

I wonder why are people even proud to display these things. This description has almost no sense into it.

Closing Notes[]

Why do these even exist?! Like, WHY?! These things are so shameless and I barely even see anyone play these! I honestly want to see these things gone any time soon, especially on the arcade it's from. And for some reason, I see these in Timezone. These are the kind of machines I expect to see in something as run down and lazy as Tom's World.

But, to be fair, I just judged the concept of how these things exist. I guess I still need to judge on how these things play, even if I don't expect much. I've been too harsh on them without even trying them, and I need to play them for myself to give a proper review.

Well, I don't know when's the next time I'm going to Timezone, but who knows, maybe these things are worthy time wise. Since Zombie Tycoon is a reskin of a game I've seen footage of, Fruit Mania (which seems... okay), and I can easily play that the next time I go, maybe I can record that. Peashooter and Ice Man also look interesting from the screenshots I've seen, but I can't readily play that because I can never go anywhere alone.

Anyway, uh, thanks for reading on how these exist. I guess I have to record footage of myself playing these games at some point to add up to the reviews in the future.
