I know what you're thinking "IMCR8Z, how can you make another world idea blog if you haven't finished Jurassic Junction?". The answer: While you guys are scratching your heads and figuring out what should be in that world, I'm gonna make a world I actually have ideas for.
World Features[]
Based on: 70s Fortress (temporary name, please post a better one if you have it) takes place in the 1970s, specifically in a James Bond-esque evil lair, with henchmen zombies.
World-specific mechanic: Oh, boy. You're gonna love this one. The mechanic specific to 70s Fortress is Weather Tiles. These have been built by Dr. Zomboss with the intentions of changing the weather for his own unexplained sinister ends, just like any good villain. If the player uses Plant Food on a Weather Tile, regardless of if there's a plant on it or not, the weather will change for a short time, benefitting the player. Here are the Weather Tiles and their effects. And yes, they can stack.
- Rain (Symbol: Raindrop): Rain starts pouring, causing all zombies (with one special exception, keep reading the blog to find out) on the screen to move slower (but the slowdown effect doesn't slow zombies as much as slowing plants can). Oh, and it puts out fires.
- 'Hot (Symbol: Sun):' It becomes so hot sun falls at a faster rate (about the same rate as a Sun Bombs level in Far Future)
- Stormy (Symbol: Lightning Bolt): A storm rolls in, causing lightning to randomly strike tiles, doing heavy damage (same as a direct hit from a melon) to zombies hit.
- Cold (Symbol: Snowflake): A chilly wind appears, causing zombies to occasionally freeze as if they stepped on an Iceberg Lettuce.
Beware, though! If a zombie steps on a Weather Tile, the weather will change in a way that benefits the zombies for a short time. Their effects:
- Rain: Not sure. Could use some help here.
- Hot: The extreme heat causes 3 random plants on the screen to BURN!
- Stormy: Same as the other effect from the Stormy Tile, but it only lasts for 10 seconds and damages plants instead. It can still hurt zombies if they're on the same tile as the plant that gets struck.
- Cold: For 10 seconds, plants will randomly freeze. Unlike the freezing in Frostbite Caves, however, the plants will automatically unfreeze after a short period of time. You can also use the Hot Tile's effect to thaw them instantly.
Surprise Attack: The surprise attack in 70s Fortress is "Guard Duty!", which makes Security Guard Zombies of all types fall from the sky and land onto the lawn. Keep reading to find out more about Security Guard Zombies.
