Remove black bars in Plants vs. Zombies

Here's how to hide that ANNOYING black bars when playing PvZ by CHANGING your screen resolution:

Before changing screen resolution: Black bars appear on the screen. Boo!

Windows XP

  1. Open Display Properties by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Themes, and then clicking Change the screen resolution.
  2. Under Screen resolution, move the slider until you see "800 by 600 pixels", and then click Apply.

Windows Vista

  1. Open Display Settings by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, clicking Personalization, and then clicking Display Settings.

  2. Under Resolution, move the slider until you see "800 by 600 pixels", and then click Apply.

Windows 7

  1. Open Screen Resolution by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, and then, under Appearance and Personalization, clicking Adjust screen resolution.

  2. Click the drop-down list next to Resolution, move the slider until you see "800 by 600 pixels", and then click Apply.

  3. Click Keep to use the new resolution, or click Revert to go back to the previous resolution.

Note

  1. If you want to revert it back to normal, follow the instructions but please move the slider until you see the previous resoulution. Example: 1600 by 1200 pixels or 1366 by 768 pixels.

    After changing screen resolution: No black bars. Nice!

  2. Make sure you remember the current resolution before doing this or you won't be able to revert it!
  3. If you keep the resolution at 800 by 600 pixels, everything looks big but fewer items fit on the screen and the text and images are less sharper.
