Anyway, after seeing just about EVERYONE ON THIS WIKI take on the whole 1930's world idea, I decided, "Hey, why don't I try that?" So I did. Anyway, I used some ideas I found on forum threads, but sorta tweaked them to match my ideas, so if you see something familiar, chances are that's why.

World Mechanics[]

Basically, the world is lit by light bulbs at the side of the roads. A few bulbs are broken, which lead to the spot being darker, slowing plants down. Cars will be scattered across the field, acting sorta like Tombstones, but some may contain zombies inside, and they can be dismantles over time by Magnet-shrooms. Throughout the course of the level, some cars may drive in and spill out zombies. However, typically, this doesn't happen to be until later in. Also, due to the world taking place in the evening, suns that fall from the sky are only worth 25 instead of 50, so you should keep around good sun producing plants.

The Brain Buster is entitled "Red Light, Green Light!" and has lights turn either red, completely stopping plants, or green, making plants faster.

Plants[]

  • Pershimmer - Cost: 75 - Recharge: Mediocre - Slowly speeds up plants over time. Also charges up a light beam which can be used to deal some damage if the Pershimmer is tapped, but after firing, plants will get slower again. Unlocked after Evening 1.
    • Pershimmer always believed she was one of the cutest plants on the lawn. Less so when she is vomiting huge beams of light at the zombies.
  • Jackfruit - Cost: 100 - Recharge: Mediocre - Defensive plant which can bounce away cars or other rolling objects. Can be placed on tiles with cars on them to remove them. Unlocked after Evening 4.
    • Jackfruit's auto repair business hasn't been going so well. Mostly because he launches cars across town rather than actually repairing them.
  • Pult-shroom - Cost: 125 - Recharge: Fast - Flings more and more mushrooms over time, slowly dealing more and more damage as it grows. Unlocked after Evening 9.
    • Pult-shroom starts off small for good reasons. For one, he just finds it exhausting going in at full strength. It takes a lot of energy to fire off large clusters of mushrooms, and he needs some time to warm up. As well as that, everyone thinks he's cute when he's small and he just really likes being the center of attention.
  • Scaredy-shroom - Cost: 50 - Recharge: Fast - Fires spores from a distance, but hides when zombies get near. Hiding protects it from ranged attacks. Unlocked after Evening 12.
    • Hiding may not be the most effective strategy in combat, but it certainly is helpful in games of Hide and Seek. Scaredy-shroom has won the first prize for six years, and he isn't gonna let the seventh slip by any time soon!
  • Pumpkin - Cost: 100 - Recharge: Sluggish - Protects the plant it is placed around.
    • Pumpkin might be scary on his own, but what's scarier is leaving him out on a porch by himself, and seeing how he looks three months later.
  • Ice-shroom - Cost: 100 - Recharge: Sluggish - Freezes zombies completely in a 3x3 area, chills everything else. Unlocked after Evening 23.
    • Years ago, when Ice-shroom was a young fungus, no one would play with him on the schoolyard, fearing he'd take the concept of "Freeze Tag" too literally.
  • Nutron Bomb - Cost: 300 - Recharge: Mediocre - Fires off energized nuts that leave pools that usually damage zombies, but may make them more powerful.
    • Nutron Bomb is always thinking about the deeper questions. "Why don't plants and zombies get along?" she wonders. "Why must we be locked in this eternal battle, when we could be locked in an eternal party!" Honestly, Nutron Bomb just really wants to party.

Premium[]

  • Celekinesis - Cost: 150 - Recharge: Fast - Fires energy blasts which have a chance to send back zombies. How far the zombie is sent back depends on their health. Costs $2.99 to purchase.
    • Although admired for his intelligence, most plants still feel confused by his claims that they all exist behind a screen, being controlled by some higher force, planning out every move of the battle. He may be brilliant, but sometimes his theories are a bit nuts.
  • Doom-shroom - Cost: 225 - Recharge: Slow - Blows up all zombies in a large area, but leaves a crater where it is planted. Costs 119 gems to purchase.
    • Doom-shroom wishes people would recognize him for more than the "Doom" his name discusses. Sure, he is an expert when it comes to destroying hoardes of zombies, but no one ever asks him about the weather, or what his favorite song is. He wants there to be someone sitting next to him, sipping tea at the fireplace, speaking about their favorite scenes from Broadway musicals. Deep down, Doom-shroom wants to be loved.

Zombies[]

  • Gangster Zombie - Reskin of Basic Zombie used for this world.
  • Conehead Gangster - Reskin of Conehead Zombie used for this world.
  • Buckethead Gangster - Reskin of Buckethead Zombie used for this world.
  • Flag Gangster - Reskin of Flag Zombie used for this world.
  • Zombie Thief - Sneaks past your plants, snatches the most powerful one, then runs away. If defeated, it will drop the plant on the nearest tile.
  • Dancing Zombie - Zombie that summons Backup Dancers on nearby tiles. Can summon more if the initial Backups are defeated. Appearance changed to have somewhat of a 1920's flapper style to it, making it one of the female zombies.
  • Backup Dancer - Dancing zombie goons summoned by the Dancing Zombie. Also adjusted to match the Dancing Zombie's new design.
  • Yo-Yo Zombie - Slings his yo-yo to attack 3 plants at a time, up to five tiles in front of him. Scaredy-shroom is able to hide from his attacks,
  • Mobster Gargantuar - Variation of Gargantuar for this world. Smashes plants with its bare hands, and can pick up cars and throw them across the screen. Throws Greaser Imp at low health.
  • Greaser Imp - Small zombie tossed across the screen by the Mobster Gargantuar. Can also come out of cars.
  • Cardboard Shack Imp - Imp living inside a cardboard house that will occasionally rest in its place, making it immune to the effects of straight-shooting plants. Can be defeated by lobbed shots or area of effect plants.
  • Fire Barrel Zombie - Carries large flaming barrel that prevents zombies around it from being chilled. Barrel absorbs damage, but it becomes more vulnerable when eating, since it has to hold the barrel behind its back. Can be defeated if completely frozen, by an Iceberg Lettuce or Ice-shroom, or a wind plant, such as Blover or Hurrikale. The barrel can also be stolen by Magnet-shroom, but if the flame still is ignited, the Magnet-shroom will burn up.
  • Soup Line Zombie - Zombies that travel in a group of four that carry soup that boosts nearby zombies in a similar style to the potions from the Dark Alchemy Brain Buster.
  • Zombot Automobile Automaton - Zombot of the world, more details are to be announced.
