Going with the holiday hijinks thing,
Missile-toe
Recharge:moderate
Sun Cost:200
Fires 3 missiles ,has same ranges as 3peater(up normal and down) does 5 dmg,if in feastivus does 10 dmg
Buttercup It Explodes, covering all Zombies on a 4x4 square area with butter
Sundew A Sun Producer that can attack Zombies
Tactical Cuke It’s pretty much a Banana Launcher, only much more powerful and can only be fired once
Canadian Gooseberry A Gooseberry with the wings and head of a Canadian Goose Fires a single feather in any direction in front of it. Plant Food has it fire a flurry of feathers in front of it. When a zombie gets too close to it, it grabs the Zombie and flies off, taking the Zombie with it
Chest-nut It’s pretty much a Wall-nut, only when it’s destroyed, you get gold coins or a diamond (it costs a lot of sun) Plant Food gives it golden, jewel encrusted armor which gives you riches every time it deteriorates
Shamrock This Plant fires light green Shamrock symbols, it’s pretty much a Peashooter, but there is a small chance that you might get a Four Leaf Shamrock which fires light green Four Leaf Shamrock symbols which has a faster fire rate and is much more powerful
Fruit Fly Not sure what it should do
Lemon Shark A Lemon-shaped Shark with a Lemon Wedge for a dorsal fin and Lemon Wedges for teeth

New Gimmick: Desertified Tiles that cannot be planted on
Desert Peashooter https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swainsona_formosa It’s pretty much a Peashooter, only it can be planted on desertified tiles
Water Lilly Moistens desertified tiles
Kangaroo Paw https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kangaroo_paw It’s like the Bonk Choy, only its punches send enemies back two tiles and it has a much slower attack speed
Gum-nut https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eucalyptus A Wall-nut that blows bubblegum bubbles that stun Zombies
Bottle Gourd https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calabash Squirts water at Zombies and can moisten desertified tiles (another Plant could do the same thing)
Black Stump Not sure what it should do

Map strategy: Territories
Individual or groups of tiles randomly across the lawn will be different colors. These colors will provide different advantages to whoever is in them. Functions like "No Plant Zones" or "2X Damage" or "2X Health."

Ability: Mushroom that deals a high amount of damage to all Zombies on the lawn.

Ability: Dirt that provides one instant Plant Food effect to whatever is planted on top of it.

Pomegrenade (or Pineapple Grenade)
Type: Mine
Sun: 150+
Recharge: Fast
Strength: Varies on Sun Cost.
Ability: Pomegranate (or Pineapple) that can be tapped to add more Sun. Sun increases area of effect. Ranges are progressive :
+50 Sun: Potato Mine > +50 Sun: Primal Potato Mine > +50 Sun: 4x4 area.
Plant Food: Instantly adds 150 Sun to Pomegrenade (or Pineapple Grenade).
Moss-Strocity
Type: Mine
Sun: 75
Recharge: Medium-Slow
Strength: Instant Kill
Ability: Moss thats eats a zombie whole. Is vulnerable while it chews. Produces Plant Food when it swallows.
Plant Food: Provides 3 Plant Food when it swallows.
Atom Zapple
Type: Caster
Sun: 250
Recharge: Slow
Strength: Instant Kill X3
Ability: Apple that zaps up to 3 Zombies from short range. Turns those zombies into very weak Apple Seeds, which can grow into other Atom Zapples over time.
Plant Food: Zaps a random Zombie into another Atom Zapple and regains all of its ammo.
World: Industrial Age
World gimmick:
Trains: Will appear every 30 seconds on a random column or lane and stun al plants there for 5 seconds.

Vacuum-Shroom:

Toughness: Typical
Recharge: Slow
Absorbs Police Officer Zombie's bullets. Every time it absorbs a bullet It'll become a bit tougher. Max is 20 bullets, makes it as tough as a Tall-Nut.
PF: Instantly maximizes toughness and steals all guns on the screen, turning Police Officer Zombies into normal zombies.
Plantern:

Toughness: Typical
Recharge: Mediocre
Prevents Trains from running over the column/lane it's planted on. Dissappears after blocking a train.
PF: Like Potato Mine's.
Lightning Bean:
Sun Cost: 100
Recharge: Mediocre
Must be eaten by a zombie. An affected zombie will emit light-damaging sparks to three other zombies every 2 seconds.
PF: Sparks will do moderate damage every second,
Zombies:
Police officer zombie:
Toughness: Protected
Speed: Creeper
Will shoot a Bullet that does 2 damage to the plant in front of him every 3 second. Countered by Vacuum-Shroom.
Engineer Zombie (GW2 appearance)
Toughness: Hardened
Speed: Creeper
Makes pistols for zombies like Zombie King.
Here is my idea for a new world:
World: Industrial Revolution
World Gimmick: Fog returns from the first game, with half the lawn covered in fog, except now it is poisonous fog which will poison and kill plants planted inside the smog unless they are immune.
Plants:
Bubble Gum:
Sun Cost: 0
Recharge: Slow
Bubble Gum is able to create a bubble around a plant which makes it immune to the poisonous smog. It is a world-exclusive plant to the Industrial Revolution.
Smog Log:
Sun Cost: 150
Recharge: Mediocre
Smog Log is immune to the poisonous smog, and he lobs logs like the Cabbage-pult, except they do a bit more damage and the logs that he lobs will temporarily clear the smog on the tile it lands on.
Vacuum-Shroom:
Sun Cost: 125
Recharge: Slow
Vacuum-Shroom is immune to the poisonous smog and attacks like a Peashooter, except he shoots gusts of smog at zombies. Also, when he is planted, he will suck up all the smog in his lane, then a small amount of time later he will shoot the smog out as a giant ball of smog which deals huge damage to the first zombie in the lane. The smog in the lane will come back after a while.
Knuckleberry:
Sun Cost: 175
Recharge: Slow
Knuckleberry is a close-range plant like the Bonk Choy, except that he can kill a zombie in one hit, except really strong zombies like the Robo-Cone Zombie and the Gargantuar. When he kills three zombies in one hit, the Knuckleberry will vanish.
Poison Ivy:
Sun Cost: 125
Recharge: Mediocre
Poison Ivy is an instant-use plant. When planted, Poison Ivy will pull the first zombie in its lane towards it and instantly kill it. It will then release a poisonous cloud which will move down the lane and poison the first zombie it encounters. The Poison Ivy will then vanish.
Metal Nettle:
Sun Cost: 200
Recharge: Mediocre
Metal Nettle lobs nettles which hits a zombie, then bounces to hit the zombie behind it. Metal Nettle is also a defensive plant, and has the same health as a Primal Wall-nut.
Zombies:
Steampunk Zombie: The basic zombie of the industrial era.
Steampunk Conehead: The metallic cone on his head gives him twice the defense of a regular zombie.
Steampunk Buckethead: The coal bucket on his head gives him three times the defense of a regular zombie.
Steampunk Imp: Is a small and fast zombie, but is weak. He can be thrown by the Steampunk Gargantuar across the lawn.
Chimney Sweep Zombie: Leaves a trail of poisonous fog behind him, which also slightly protects zombies behind him.
Oil Spiller Zombie: Lobs buckets of oil which will land on random tiles. The tiles which the oil lands on will become sticky and poisonous, making plants unable to be planted there.
Coal Miner Zombie: Appears on the lawn, then after walking across two tiles, it will dig and go underground, and will tunnel underground until it reaches the first plant it encounters. It will pull the plant underground, killing it, and the Coal Miner Zombie will emerge.
Kiln Zombie: Like the Troglobite, the Kiln Zombie will push large kilns across the lawn. The fire from the kiln can be seen through the smog.
Rat Keeper: Like the Chicken Wrangler Zombie, the Rat Keeper will release a horde of Zombie Rats when he is partially damaged.
Zombie Rat: A very fast and small rat which quickly eats through your defenses, however it only has one health.
Steampunk Gargantuar: Is the Industrial Revolution's version of the Gargantuar.
Zombot Ravenous Ratatron: A giant robotic rat with smoke stacks on his back which it uses to shoot smog onto random tiles. Also, the Zombot is encased in smog like how the Zombot Tuskmaster 10,000 B.C. is encased in snow. The Zombot also has a ramming attack.

Gas Zombie: Throws gas bombs that damages plants except Gas Nuts
Tank Zombie: Shoots your plants and does a splash damage in that plant's 3x3 area, Destroys Lawn Mover when noplants, and explodes your bunker
Bungee Zombie: Same as before but has a dying animation
Gating Pea: Same as PvZ1 (PF: Shoots 120 peas)
Gun-Ter: Shoots amo that deals damage to zombies (PF: Shoots 4 amo that deal 50 damage each)
Umbrella Leaf: PvZ1 (PF: Bounces every zombie away)
Cob Cannon (Premium) : PvZ1 (PF: Same like Banana Launcher)
Gas Nut: Protects Plants from being Gased (PF: Protects Plants in a 4x4 area
Zomboss: Zombot Axis Nazi
Health: Undying (3407 hp)

Space Race:
Gimmick: This world takes place on the Moon in 1969, and the main gimmicks are that there is no oxygen, so Plants will die in 30 seconds if they are not near a new plant called the Oxygen Olive, which is a world-exclusive plant for the Space Race. There are also craters, which are coloured in pairs, and when zombies come into contact with them, they will go into them and exit out of the other.
Plants:
Oxygen Olive:
Sun Cost: 0 Recharge: Mediocre
The Oxygen Olive is a world-exclusive plant to the Space Race. When planted, it will create an air field in a 3x3 area which will give oxygen to plants in its field.
Lunar Lime:
Sun Cost: 150 Recharge: Fast
The Lunar Lime wears a space helmet which allows him to not need oxygen, and also shoots lime juice which passes through a zombie and deals slightly more damage to the next zombie it hits. It only passes through the first zombie.
Tornado Tomato:
Sun Cost: 200 Recharge: Mediocre
The Tornado Tomato is a small tomato who generates a tornado above it. When a Plant's shot goes into the tornado, it will go into a random lane.
Lemonade Lobber:
Sun Cost: 175 Recharge: Sluggish
The Lemonade Lobber is a small lemon who lobs 'lemonades' (lemon grenades) at zombies, which are weak themselves, but once they land they will create a small citric cloud which will damage zombies within it until it disappears. It also has a slow rate of fire.
Algae Rift:
Sun Cost: 375 Rechage: Slow
The Algae Rift is a small piece of algae who creates a portal above it. The portal will release two random zombies who are fighting for you in its lane, like they have been affected by a Hypno-shroom, before the Algae Rift disappears.
Crater Cress:
Sun Cost: 0 > 250 > x2 Recharge: Mediocre
The Crater Cress is a flying piece of cress with a boxing glove under it. When it is planted, it will slam the ground and create a coloured crater, which will make zombies go to another crater that you can create with another Crater Cress. If only one crater from the Crater Cress is present, zombies will just walk over it until another is made. The craters come in pairs.
Zombies:
Astronaut Zombie: The basic zombie of the Space Race.
Conehead Astronaut: The rocket cone on his head gives him twice the health of a normal zombie.
Buckethead Astronaut: The engine bucket on his head gives him three times the health of a regular zombie.
Astronaut Flag Zombie: Marks a huge 'lunar' wave of zombies.
Saucer Imp: An Imp similar to the Bug Bot Imp, except it uses a UFO to move around.
Gravity Hopper Zombie: A zombie who has slightly more health and speed than a regular zombie, and can jump over plants.
Satellite Rider Zombie: A zombie who rides a satellite across the lawn. The satellite has high defense, and it also has satellite panels which block attacks on the lanes above and below it.
Rover Pilot Zombie: A zombie who pilots a slow rover which can run over and instantly kill and plant it encounters.
Rocket Launcher Zombie: A zombie who pushes a control module. When it gets to a certain tile it will launch a large rocket which will take out the first three plants in its lane.
Telescope Zombie: A zombie who carries a telescope, and when he enters the lawn he places down the telescope immediately and looks through it. Also, like a Zombot's missiles, the Telescope Zombie will target three random tiles and will make meteors that he saw land there, destroying any plant they land on.
Alien Gargantuar: The Gargantuar of the Space Race who resembles an alien and releases Saucer Imps when damaged.
Zombot Unimaginable Floating Oval: A large UFO who can abduct Plants, send out zombies and can also create craters in later stages.
