Sizzle is a premium uncommon plant trick card in Plants vs. Zombies Heroes, and a member of the Kabloom class. It costs 5 to play, and its ability does 5 damage to a selected zombie. Its closest zombie counterpart is Cakesplosion.
- Class: Kabloom
- Tribe: Trick
- Ability: Do 5 damage to a Zombie.
- Set - Rarity: Premium - Uncommon
Incredibly hot and full of electricity. So much ouch.
- Design change: Sizzle now explodes like Sun Bombs in Plants vs. Zombies 2.
This is a useful alternative for heroes who cannot run more powerful removal options such as Squash and Doom-Shroom. Compared to other direct damage option from the Kabloom class, Sizzle has the highest amount of immediate single target damage, but suffers from inability to hit the enemy hero and the lack of tribes. In particular, a Berry Blast boosted by Sergeant Strongberry can also deal 5 damage for a mere cost of 2 unless it is used against Armored zombies such as Knight of the Living Dead.
For obvious reasons, it is not recommended to use Sizzle as Solar Flare, since Squash is always a superior option, unless you already have 4 Squashes in your deck and just need more removal cards. Additionally, this card will trigger "When Hurt" abilities such as Newspaper Zombie, which makes it even worse than Squash. However, Captain Combustible and Nightcap can use this well due to their lack of instant-kill cards in general. Spudow should only use this if Doom-Shroom or Shamrocket are not an option.
Sizzle is a good counter to Copter Commando, Walrus Rider, Shieldcrusher Viking, and Zombot Sharktronic Sub as it can instantly destroy them when used if they aren't boosted. Generally, it is used to destroy or at least cripple zombies with high health stats such as Gargantuars and Hearty zombies. Moreover, it can also be used to get rid of the Amphibious zombies if the player lacks Amphibious defense, such as Captain Combustible. Therefore, as long as it's not critically needed, Sizzle should not be used against weak foes and instead should be saved in case the enemy plays a powerful card.
If possible, play a false threat to distract your opponent from destroying or heavily damaging your key zombies. You can also play Gravestone zombies, but you need to be careful if your opponent is Spudow, as he might play Grave Buster instead. You can also play Zombie Coach if your entire field is filled with sports zombies to make Sizzle ineffective.
