Ordinance is the most effective with peanut butter and raisins.

Shellery is a premium uncommon plant card in Plants vs. Zombies Heroes, and a member of the PvZH Smarty IconSmarty class. It costs 1SunPvZH to play, and has 2StrengthPvZH/1HeartPvZH. It has the Team-Up trait, and does not have any abilities.

It is based on celery, a marshland plant variety in the family Apiaceae, commonly cultivated as a vegetable, and a cannon, a piece of artillery that uses gunpowder or other usually explosive-based propellants to launch a projectile, which may or may not be explosive.

Its name is a portmanteau of "shell", referring to the projectiles it spits, and "celery", the real-life plant this is based on.

Update history

Update 1.2.11

  • Set - Rarity change: Basic - Common → Premium - Uncommon

Shellery is an early-game glass cannon with Team-Up. You should only prioritize this if the zombie played on the first turn has 2 health, or if you want to land 2 damage to the hero on the first turn. Keep in mind that the zombie hero could be waiting to use a trick to destroy it.

On special stages where you are given a plant (or plants) from the start, you may want to protect it with Shellery.

This plant has only 1 health, so any damaging zombie or trick can easily destroy it. A better strategy is to use a zombie with PvZH Strikethrough IconStrikethrough such as Hot Dog Imp, due to it negating the Team-Up trait, as it hits both Shellery and the plant behind it. However, this can only used after turn 2.

  • It and Celery Stalker are the only plants based on celery.
  • Its description mentions peanut butter and raisins, which is a reference to ants on a log, a snack made using celery, peanut butter, and raisins.
  • It bears a slight resemblance to Asparagus.
