Scorched Earth is a super-rare plant superpower trick card in Plants vs. Zombies Heroes, and a member of the Solar class. It costs 1 to play, and its ability gives all zombies on ground lanes -1/-1. Its zombie counterpart is Acid Rain.

Unfortunately the Zombies were all out of SPF 9000.
This trick is similar to Weed Whack on the fact that it lowers the stats of zombies, but Scorched Earth can affect more than 1 zombie, at the cost of the stat reduction being weaker. This can be used to finish off multiple zombies with 1 health, like Disco Zombie or Cuckoo Zombie easily. However, Scorched Earth's ability is affected by how many ground lanes there are, since it only affects zombies on ground lanes. Alternatively, zombies can be played on aquatic lanes or the heights, rendering this superpower useless against them. Scorched Earth can also be used as a combo with Chomper, Toadstool, and Whack-a-Zombie, due to the fact that this superpower can lower the strength of zombies.
If you get this as your first superpower in the mini-boss battle of IMPfestation Ahead! or in the boss fight of Haunting at Morbid Manor, this can destroy the Abracadavers and Haunting Zombies at the start of the mission, which makes it a very good superpower to start with.
If you want to send out a threat with 1 health like Mini-Ninja or Tennis Champ, play it on the heights to lower the chance of this trick being used on the first turn. Having your strategy focus on stronger zombies is also a perfect way of countering this trick.
- Its description mentions SPF, which is a relative measure of how long a sunscreen can protect you from ultraviolet rays.
