If you feel like you have the ability to maintain the role of staff on the Plants vs. Zombies Wiki, post your user name and a resume. All users who have at least 25 mainspace edits and join this Wiki for two weeks can decide who will be promoted.

To ask for your promotion, you must go here and create a promotion thread. The thread should include:

  • Completed requirements for having the rights;
  • Your Pros, which must include why you should have the rights;
  • Your Cons, which must include your weaknesses (optional).
Note: Any promotion thread which does not fulfill one of the compulsory requirements above will be disqualified.

Promotion rules

  • Do not promote users instantly (especially for bureaucrat); they will be promoted after three days if they have enough supporting votes.
  • Begging for supportive votes is forbidden.
  • Any user who demotes themselves or were demoted for inactivity can get their rights back after being active in the Wiki again for at least two weeks.
  • Inactive rollbacks, chat moderators, content moderators, and discussion moderators may be demoted if agreed on; inactive administrators and bureaucrats may be demoted upon stricter discussions.
  • You cannot vote oppose or support if you do not know the person. However, you can vote neutral.
  • If you vote support or oppose because they are your enemy or friend, that reason is invalid unless you put a legitimate reason (good edits, helpful, the like).
    • Poor reasons include "not liking the user," "imperfect grammar," "power hungry," and "haven't seen the user."
  • Once your thread is finished, you must wait a month to get another rank or retry your proposal if it failed, unless you are just skipping a rank.
  • If you are promoted, you must show you can do your job, or you may be demoted. This excludes a lack of bad behavior.
  • "Per user" and "same as user" are prohibited as reasons in every promotion thread if you do not further elaborate it nor state another reason.
  • You may not vote for yourself.
  • You must answer the following two questions in your vote if supporting, or your vote will be disqualified:
    • How would this user benefit the wiki?
    • How would these rights benefit the user?
  • Blocks for reasons that applied at the time of the block itself but not the vote do not count. Rules created after the promotion may not be used for demotion.
