Since this boosts all zombies on the field, make sure you have many zombies on the field to maximize the benefit from the trick's ability. Also, this trick is extremely useful for every Hearty zombie heroes' deck except for The Smash, since it is their only way to boost the strength and health of non-sports zombies (unless it's a Pet deck). With Z-Mech, this can aid Dancing decks, especially with Aerobics Instructor. However, this trick is expensive and will usually take up one turn to use.
You will not be able to do much. If the zombie hero with Hearty does nothing on turn 5, you can expect a Monster Mash may be played. In this case, try bouncing, freezing, or destroying zombies so the zombie hero will do a second guess whether to use it or not. If this cannot be achieved, next turn you can use Doom-Shroom to mostly negate its ability.
