Prior to the 7.4 update, Jurassic Marsh - Day 38 was the 38th day of Jurassic Marsh. It is a Locked and Loaded level, where the player must avoid planting on Dave's mold colonies. Additionally, the Jurassic Rockpuncher is first introduced here. He is an upgraded version of the Jurassic Bully. He is tougher and unlike Jurassic Bully, he has a special ability to smash and destroy plants and create scorched tiles where the plants were on. Like Jurassic Bully, he is immune to Primal Peashooter’s knockback. Upon completing the level, the player receives a Jurassic Marsh Piñata.
As of the 7.4 update, level expansions were removed from the world maps and placed into epic quests. Because of this, this level is no longer accessible from the map, and must be accessed when the epic quest is available.
Difficulty[]
This is a very hard level, since you cannot use most tiles in the second and fourth lane. The plants are pre-picked, which means the player has to kill zombies in the second and fourth lane using Threepeaters or Primal Potato Mines if they don't spare the first column for offensive plants. Moreover, Jurassic Rockpuncher is first introduced in this level as they not only can't be knocked back by Primal Peashooter , but also destroy plants in his way and leave a crater in the destroyed plant's tile. He has a higher health than his downgrade, Jurassic Bully, although he moves slightly slower. If raptors appear in those lanes, defeating zombies would be much harder, so the player has to use their Perfume-shrooms and Primal Potato Mines wisely. Be aware that Primal Potato Mine will not activate if there are no zombies on the tile.
Waves[]
- The small number next to the zombie icon means that zombie will always appear in that lane, with 1 being the topmost lane and 5 being the bottommost one.

Strategies[]
Strategy 1[]
Use Threepeater as your main attacking plant. (highly recommended to get it to level 5 at least) First plant 9 Primal Sun-flowers, all the the third, fourth and fifth column. Stall the first amberhead with a stallia, twice, and plant a primal potato mine to deal with it and one other zombie in the second wave. Start building up your threepeaters, all on the first column. Use Perfume-shroom on raptors that have jurassic bullies behind them. You can also plant primal peashooters on the second column. Use stallia to stall jurassic bullies that have gone past the fourth column, as well as using primal sunflower to stall them (only if stallia is applied). You will hang on, but barely. You also should plant primal potato mines on the second column during the big flags because sometimes jurassic bullies may creep past there, (since firepower there is weakest) but they should be killed by the primal potato mines. Boosting plants don't work.
