Explody Gnome

Explody Gnome is a type of Gnome and an enemy in Infinity Time and Trials of Gnomus in Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2. Explody Gnomes carry a large, barrel-shaped bomb and will explode on contact with the player and deal knockback, making them the Gnome equivalent of the Exploding Imp Fan/Exploding Imp and the Dandelion Weed (although they are more powerful than either of these, because they have more health, deal more damage and deal knockback as well).

Explody Gnomes attack by hopping up to the player and detonating the bomb they carry. They move slightly faster than regular Gnomes and once they get close to their intended target, the bomb will start emitting glowing blue waves for a few seconds before it detonates, dealing 50 damage at point-blank range which decreases over distance. Although they move faster than regular Gnomes, Explody Gnomes also have less health than regular Gnomes, making them easier to defeat head-on.

The Brothers Gnomus

Explody Gnomes appear with all the other gnomes in The Brothers Gnomus Boss Hunt, and Champion Explody Gnomes can exist as well. Unlike regular Gnomes, these will curse the player when they explode, slowing them down and preventing them from using abilities.

An Explody Gnome has 65 health.

Trivia

• Even when it is vanquished by exploding itself, it still releases a Time Shard in Infinity Time.
• It is possible to nullify the effect of an Explody Gnome by doing a well-timed charge with the Kitty Pounce or Charge of Insanity, if in Infinity Time, or the Sprint Tackle, Heroic Kick, or Spin Dash if in the Trials of Gnomus or Brothers Gnomus.
• Chomper can't eat the Gnomes, though they will run away from Burrow and they can be Gooped.
• When Stuffy Flower vanquishes Gnomes, the healing sundrops won't appear.
