The Plants vs. Zombiesseries is composed of many games with different game genres, all developed by PopCap Games and published by Electronic Arts. In this series, there are two major factions which are constantly battling themselves, the plants and the zombies.
In every game, there is a person called Crazy Dave, which helps the player to stop the zombies and their leader Dr. Edgar Zomboss, the main antagonist of the series. Every game consists of many different game modes to increase the ways and fun to play. The series is also on a wide variety of platforms, from handheld consoles such as the DS, DSiWare to home consoles such as the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
Starting from 2014, the Plants vs. Zombies series introduced its spin-off subseries. Garden Warfare revamped completely the game's formula, changing the tower defense style to a constantly online third-person shooter where both plants and zombies can be controlled, with many similarities between them. This genre continues with the release of Garden Warfare 2 in 2016, where an offline mode was introduced. Here, the zombies have taken Suburbia, the neighbourhood the player lives in, and transformed it into Zomburbia.
Also in 2016, a new spin-off has been released. Plants vs. Zombies Heroes takes control of both plants and zombies on a card-collecting game against single-player opponents or real-time opponents from other parts of the world.

May 15th: QQ accounts that were registered after this date could no longer play Plants vs. Zombies Online. The game is also announced to have all the game servers and website shut down and removed on August 11, 2018.

July 16: Plants vs. Zombies 3 was released for Android devices for pre-alpha testing.
Plants vs. Zombies 2 is the second game of main Plants vs. Zombies series. In this game, the players travel through time. They go to Ancient Egypt, Wild West and more time periods to defeat the zombies.
Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville is a reboot of the third-person shooter games, featuring reworks of all the previous characters, separating the characters into three roles, and new characters that include Night Cap, potted Plant turned playable Snapdragon, 80s Action Hero, Electric Slide, and a passenger gimmick featuring Acorn and his Oak as well as Space Cadet and her Space Station.
PopCap Games and Zen Studios created a game, Plants vs. Zombies Pinball. Just like normal pinball games, but it has been modeled with a Plants vs. Zombies theme design. Use the pea (ball) to attack Dr. Zomboss, which is launched by Cob Cannon. The pea will be upgraded after it touches any power-ups. It is only available for download on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation Network. In early 2013 the Plants vs. Zombies Pinball table became a part of a bigger package, Zen Pinball 2, released among the previous Zen Pinball Tables on the Nintendo eShop for Wii U.
Plants vs. Zombies Adventures was a Plants vs. Zombies based-game which was available on Facebook. The player could play with other players. They could beat many zombies on Road Trip mode. Then reclaimed new plants on the town and used them on the Player's Town to prevent zombies to go into the player's house. The game was closed on October 12, 2014.
Plants vs. Zombies Heroesis a mobile collectible card game in a turn-based format where players use heroes to play as the plants or zombies and battle with cards.
A board game which is a modified version of Risk, it has a double-sided board and three gameplay types: Total Domination, where the objective is to gain control over the entire board, Mission Objective, where each player must complete a certain objective to win, and Tower Defense, which appears to be based on normal Plants vs. Zombies gameplay, rather than Risk.
An educational variant to Plants vs. Zombies 2 by GlassLab Games demonstrating multiple venues of problem solving, including breaking problems down into smaller pieces, measure progress towards a goal, all behind-the-scenes as the player takes in and plays the game. It only includes Ancient Egypt and Pirate Seas, and is missing many of the game mechanics that appear in Plants vs. Zombies 2.
Zombie Matchis a match-three puzzle game where the player matches flower pots to create plants, which can be used to defeat zombies and clear goop. The game is a spin off of Plants vs. Zombies 3, and is part of a limited market test currently being ran by EA.
Collective name of Plants vs. Zombies 2 and Plants vs. Zombies 3 spin-offs produced by Talkweb, available in Tencent and QQ apps. Common properties of these games is small amounts of content and simplified tower defense gameplay.
Plants vs. Zombies: The Board Game was intended to be released on 2012, but was canceled. The players would have used game cards to play this game. Like the rest of the Plants vs. Zombies series, the main purpose would have been to prevent the zombies from going to the house.
Talking Zombatar was a game with the concept being similar to Talking Tom. You could interact with the zombie, as well as earning daily rewards, but it got scrapped for reasons unknown.
