The Mechanical Menace Rises is the eleventh mission for the plant side in Plants vs. Zombies Heroes. The main opposing zombie hero in this mission is Z-Mech. This mission also features Brain Freeze and Professor Brainstorm as the opposing zombie heroes.
There is also a rule throughout the mission called "Zombies Alive!". When a zombie is played, that zombie gets +1.
Z-Mech's first deck can be entirely full of trouble if you cannot deal with him correctly. Firstly, Exploding Imps will survive the "Fight!" phase of Turn 3 if left unattended because of the "Zombies Alive!" rule. It will be hard to counter any Arm Wrestlers played on the first turn, because there are not many cards that will be able to take it out. Haunted Pumpking or Meteor Strike can be used, however. Also, be wary of the All-Star Zombies in this deck. If you take too long to deal with Z-Mech, he will put down many of them and follow it with a Monster Mash. Finally, if you destroy any of his Zombies, he will be able to make a comeback with his Valkyries.

Teammate Battle (I)[]
Teammate Battle (I) AI Deck
In this level, Brain Freeze uses a very hard deck, as all the zombies are pets and can boost each other. Note that Brain Freeze also has two pet superpowers, which are Frozen Tundra and Dolphinado. The most dangerous fighters are Cat Lady, Zookeeper and Kangaroo Rider. Along with the "Zombie Alive!" rules, it is extremely hard to beat him without a proper strategy. Try to put stronger plants on the height lane and water lane to prevent it from getting frozen.

Mini-Boss Battle[]
Mini-Boss Battle AI Deck
Try not to take too long on this battle, because this time Z-Mech has completely taken out his Baseball Zombies and one Camel Crossing for three Ra Zombies and two Coffee Zombies. If you don't finish this level fast, Z-Mech will throw down his Coffee Zombies combined with a couple of All-Star Zombies to penetrate your defenses quickly and spell doom to any unprepared player. Try to swarm Z-Mech and overwhelm him with tons of hard-hitting Plants before he is able to pull off a threatening stunt.

Teammate Battle (II)[]
Teammate Battle (II) AI Deck
Professor Brainstorm returns with a challenging deck to face. Firstly, thanks to the "Zombies Alive!" rule, all the Paparazzi Zombies he plays early on will survive. Then, he will try to boost them with Beam Me Ups and Bungee Plumbers. Both the Gravestones in this deck both cost the same and Professor Brainstorm has the same number of them, so try to see if there are any Zombies (particularly Paparazzi Zombies that have high strength), because if he plays a Gravestone, it is probably going to be an Electrician. Speaking of Electrician, Cuckoo Zombies are probably going to do a bonus attack if there are no huge Paparazzi Zombies around. Professor Brainstorm will most likely try to stall with Rocket Science and Bungee Plumber until he can use many Hail-a-Copters combined with Gadget Scientists.

Boss Battle[]
Boss Battle AI Deck
As if Z-Mech's final deck couldn't be challenging enough. He has completely taken out his four Exploding Imps, in exchange for one more Team Mascot and three Rodeo Gargantuars. Now, Z-Mech has completely removed both Coffee Zombies without replacing them, but it should be noted that his three Ra Zombies and one Monster Mash were removed in exchange for 4 copies of Zombie Coach. Now, this may be problematic. Tennis Champs are also Sports Zombies, and if they are played on the first turn, they will be dangerous 4/2 that have many counters, but it is unlikely that these counters will be of much use later on. The Sports tribe that Tennis Champ has will prove it to be a huge pain when combined with Team Mascots and Zombie Coaches. Speaking of Zombie Coaches, they will protect his smaller Sports Zombies from Arm Wrestler to Team Mascot, ensuring that Team Mascot gets to boost the entire team for another turn, to his big, late-game Sports threats, being All-Star Zombie and Rodeo Gargantuar. Even worse, if Z-Mech is able to swarm the field fast, he will be able to pull off a very devastating Monster Mash. Be careful, this battle may end up taking you a long time to beat.
