KO at the OK Arcade

KO at the OK Arcade is the fifth mission for the zombie side in Plants vs. Zombies Heroes. The main opposing plant hero in this mission is Solar Flare. This mission also features Nightcap and Green Shadow as opposing plant heroes.

At the start of the Encounter Battle, Dr. Zomboss says that he will give the player one card at the start of each battle for this mission to aid the player. The mentioned card is a Cat Lady played on the first lane, so it is recommended to use Beastly heroes with a deck containing many pet zombies, preferably Brain Freeze, on this mission.

Plot (Spoilers)

Solar Flare is playing an arcade game in the arcade when Super Brainz and Impfinity crash into the arcade. The battle began with Impfinity throwing a wooden crate at Solar Flare damaging her, and also his aid with Super Brainz until the comic shows that this was entirely in an arcade game. Solar Flare lost the game and eventually Super Brainz won.

Decks

Encounter Battle

The only real threats here are Twin Sunflower, Zapricot and Metal Petal Sunflower. Other than Metal Petal Sunflower, all plants here have low health. You can make use of Crazy tricks like Bungee Plumber and The Chickening to win this battle easily. If you are playing as Electric Boogaloo, this will be even better since he has pet zombies who can help boost Cat Lady.

No differences from the Encounter battle. Just keep to using the deck you used eariler, but beware of Smoosh-Shroom.

Mini-Boss Battle

Solar Flare ditched Morning Glories for Power Flower, which means that she can get healed if she spams flowers. She also has Lawnmowers, which you can negate by playing your important zombies on the height lanes. Other than that, this battle is no different from the Encounter battle.

Teammate Battle (II)

Green Shadow somehow managed to bring in 8 Snow Peas. She will try to freeze your zombies to boost her Snowdrops and then play a lot of tricks to finish you off with Re-Peat Moss's ability. Use Professor Brainstorm here. He can use Rocket Science to remove dangerous plants and Crazy tricks like The Chickening and Bungee Plumber to remove weaker plants. He also has tricks that can spawn zombies in the tricks phase like Beam Me Up and Hail-a-Copter to help prevent Green Shadow from easily freezing his fighters.

Boss Battle

Solar Flare now has Morning Glories back in her deck, and she has also brought in Seedlings and one more Lawnmower. Use a rush deck to take her down quickly, otherwise she will unleash Dandy Lion Kings on you.

The Cactus resembles its Plants vs. Zombies 2 appearance.

• In the first comic strip, there is a Cactus that resembles its Plants vs. Zombies 2 appearance.
• In the 2nd comic strip, the game Super Brainz, Impfinity and Solar Flare are playing appears to be a reference to the fighting game Street Fighter.
• The arcade machines in the background of the 2nd comic strip are as below:
  • "Final Plantasy", a reference to Final Fantasy.
  • Presumably, one of them is titled "Lawn of the Dead". This could reference many zombie-like arcade games, a nod to one of the old names of the original Plants vs. Zombies, or a reference to "Dawn of the Dead", a 1978 horror film.
    • This machine can be more clearly seen in the cover, where it is indeed spelled "Lawn of the Dead".
