GoldenGnome1

A Golden Gnome is a type of collectible in Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 and Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville. Some Golden Gnomes can only be found by shooting a rectangular button. In Garden Warfare 2, this button has two white mushrooms and a white circle in the background of the button. In Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville, the button is red on a stone rectangle. Other Golden Gnomes can be found in random locations, sometimes being out in the open, others being hidden. Whenever a Golden Gnome is collected, a white outline of it will remain.

In Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville, collecting at least one out of the fifty Golden Gnomes per region is required to be able to find the three Diamond Gnomes to fight the respective Gnome Gnight. Additionally, collecting all of the Golden Gnomes is a requirement to achieve 100% completion in that region. Golden Gnomes are either available in plain sight or have to be obtained by completing Gnome challenges.

In Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2[]

For the locations of the Golden Gnomes, see here

In Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2, there is a total of 54 Golden Gnomes in the entire game. There are 2 in each Team Vanquish map, there are 6 in each Turf Takeover map and the other 14 are hidden in the Backyard Battleground.

If the player manages to find multiple Golden Gnomes, they can answer the phone box in the Backyard Battleground and unlock the secret Golden Gnome Trophy Area, where they can see all the Gnomes they have collected while being able to find some chests. If the player manages to find all 54 Golden Gnomes, a secret door will open and the player can open three chests. In the Gnome area, there is a big chest which which requires 200 Stars to open. Once opened, a customization item, called the Everlasting Crown, will be unlocked.

In Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville[]

In Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville, there are of 50 Golden Gnomes in each PvE region, making a total of 150 Golden Gnomes. Unlike Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2, collecting all Golden Gnomes is required for 100% completion in a region.

Gnome challenges sometimes have "phony" Golden Gnomes which initiate the Gnome challenge instead of giving the player a collected Golden Gnome.
