In Plants vs. Zombies, the player can earn achievements by completing their respective actions. Because of this, some achievements cannot be achieved on certain levels or modes of the game. Achievements appear in almost all versions of the game, with the only exceptions being the original PC version and the online version.

PC achievements[]

On May 8, 2009, Plants vs. Zombies on Steam was given twelve Achievements. On July 11, 2010, with the Game of the Year Edition's release, the game was given an update, including nine extra achievements, boosting the total of twenty-one (the Physical and non-Steam Game of the Year version has twenty of these achievements, but with a few small changes to them).

Scrapped Achievements[]

These achievements were originally going to be added to the PC version of the game, but got scrapped.

Update history[]

There are a total of forty-seven (forty-eight in the iPad version) achievements for the iOS versions of the game.

  • February 15, 2010, There were 12 achievements for iPhone.
  • March 31, 2010, there were 17 achievements for iPad.
  • April 5, 2010, one extra achievement was added to the iPhone version, making it thirteen achievements.
  • July 27, 2010, 12 extra achievements were added to the iPhone and iPad, making it 25 (29 in the iPad version) achievements.
  • February 20, 2011, one achievement was added and one removed.
  • June 15, 2011, 6 extra achievements were added to both iPhone and iPad versions, making it 31 (35 in the iPad version) achievements.
  • September 11, 2011, one extra achievement was added, making it 32 (36 in the iPad version) achievements.
  • September 17, 2011, 3 extra achievements were added, making it 35 (39 in the iPad version) achievements.
  • September 21, 2011, one extra achievement was added, making it 36 (40 in the iPad version) achievements.
  • December 16, 2011, two extra achievements were added, making it 38 (42 in the iPad version) achievements.
  • December 17, 2011, two achievements were added, making it 40 (44 in the iPad version) achievements.
  • January 21, 2012, one achievement was removed, making it 40 (43 in the iPad version) achievements.
  • April 19, 2012, 3 (2 for the iPad version) extra achievements were added, making it 43 (45 in the iPad version) achievements.
  • September 6, 2012, 3 extra achievements were added, making it 47 (48 in the iPad version) achievements.

Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, and PlayStation Vita achievements[]

There are a total of twelve achievements on the Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network versions. On the leaderboards screen, one will see that Crazy Dave puts lawn ornaments on the lawn of his or her leaderboard house upon obtaining each achievement of the game.

PlayStation Vita only[]

The PlayStation Vita version of the game has most of the achievements from the PlayStation 3 version, plus a lot more.

Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSiWare achievements[]

The Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSiWare versions have their own set of achievements. There are fourteen total. Note that many of the Nintendo DS achievement are identical to other achievements of different names. The only difference is the names of these achievements.

Android and Nook Achievements[]

There are a total of forty-eight achievements for the Android version. The Nook version only includes ten achievements.

Trivia[]

  • When the player gets an achievement, they will hear a significant sound.
  • In the Game of the Year, iOS, Android, BlackBerry, PlayBook, Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSiWare versions of Plants vs. Zombies, Chinese zombies are found at the bottom of the achievements page, although there are some very slight variations between each of the different versions. To see them:
    • For the PC version, scroll the mouse down or press arrow down key.
    • For the other versions, such as iPad and Android, slide down the screen.
    • They are there because of the phrase "digging to China".
  • The only hidden achievement is Peking Express.
  • Also, in its description, the game will set the player a record for scrolling to China in the shortest time. When they beat their record, it will say the number of seconds the player has dug their way to China.
  • The Nintendo DSiWare version of Plants vs. Zombies has the least achievements, with nine.
  • In the Game of the Year version of the game, the Silver Sunflower Trophy and Gold Sunflower Trophy sit on top the achievement button.
  • Penny Pincher and Lucky Spin are the only achievements that include getting coins.
