Dynamite is an item available in most Plants vs. Zombies games. It has different functions in each game.

Plants vs. Zombies[]

Dynamite

Dynamite is an explosive in the online version of the Plants vs. Zombies Puzzle ModeVasebreaker. It is used as a substitute for the Jack-in-the-Box Zombie, as he does not appear in the online Adventure Mode because the player cannot go far enough in Adventure Mode to encounter it. Dynamite acts exactly like a Jack-in-the-Box Zombie with the exact same detonation time, although its range is larger (it can destroy plants two squares away if it is directly to the left of the dynamite).

The dynamite was a boost in Plants vs. Zombies Adventures. It could be generated by the police station in The Police Station Lot, as well as by the Broken Taco Truck. It was used to clear trash and make more space for plants to be planted.

Plants vs. Zombies 2[]

Prospector Zombie uses his dynamite to detonate close to the player's lawn mowers. Freezing plants can prevent dynamite from detonating by freezing the fuse. However, fire plants will relight the fuse. Heavy amounts of damage can also stop Prospector Zombies from blasting to the left side of the lawn.

Super-Fan Imp uses his dynamite to blow up a plant when either kicked by All-Star Zombie or on contact to backmost plants. If the Super-Fan Imp is not kicked by the All-Star Zombie or stopped by a plant, his dynamite will not explode until it reaches a certain tile. Unlike the Prospector Zombie's dynamite, Super-Fan Imp's dynamite is unable to be extinguished by freezing plants.

Plants vs. Zombies Heroes[]

Exploding Fruitcake has dynamite stuck in its middle, which causes it to explode, dealing 7 damage to a selected plant. However, using Exploding Fruitcake makes the plant hero Conjure a fruit, making the plant hero have compensation for the damaged/destroyed plant.

Trivia[]

  • The design for the dynamite is the same as in many types of cartoons. It also resembles the dynamite from TipTop, another PopCap game.
  • The dynamite from Plants vs. Zombies Adventures is the only kind that works with the player instead of against the player.
  • Prospector Zombie has a bundle of four sticks of dynamite tied up and tied to his belt, while Super-Fan Imp has two sticks of dynamite attached to opposite sides of his cap.
