Breaking It Off is an achievement in Plants vs. Zombies 2. It requires the player kill a Boombox Zombie before he can play his jam. It is worth 5 points on Game Center for iOS devices and 500 XP on Google Play Games for Android devices.
Origins
Its name comes from the idiom, "Break Off", which means to end a relationship, which can relate to Boombox Zombie, because his jam is heartfelt, and related to love.
Strategies
Bring area-of-effect plants like Laser Bean or Phat Beet to defeat Boombox Zombies fast, since they are weak. Using instant-kills like Cherry Bomb could also be a good choice.
Greatest Hits can help with this achievement because the Boombox Zombies are both easy to defeat via Winter Melon, partly because it deals high damage and he will appear in small quantities in the levels where very little Boombox Zombies appear.
Trivia
- In the achievement description, it says "power of song" instead of "power of ballad".
- It, Iceblockade , Not Baaad, All in Jest, Mutiny, Shovel Off, Fly Fishing Fail, A-noob-is and You're an All-Star? all have similar objectives.
