There are many strategies to beat this mini-game. This Pool mini-game is one of the toughest mini-games, so don't worry if you don't beat it on your first try, as many people usually don't.

Before adding your own strategy, please overview the rules page first.

Strategy 1[]

Plants needed:

Note: Chompers will devour whole Zombie Bobsled Teams if they have not come out of the bobsled. Plant Sunflowers in the back, and when a Zomboni comes, use a Squash. When a Bobsled Team appears, use a Jalapeno, which also melts the ice. If you don't have any instant kills, use your Imitater. Plant Cattails to help kill other zombies.

also note:these plants said to be needed are not going to be enough, what worked best for me was also using gatling peas and torchwoods to help out with the zomboni's and zombie bobsledders in case all your insta kill plants are recharging, however keep in mind it does take a lot of set up, you should do it as soon as 2 cattails are up in my opinion

Strategy 2[]

Plants needed:

IMG 1579

The first two columns are Sunflowers (switch to Repeaters later, shifting the Sunflowers to the right end of the pool). Plant Chompers in the third column behind the Wall-nuts. Wall-nuts, Potato Mines, and Cherry Bombs are for Zombie Bobsled Teams that reach the end of the ice. Threepeaters can substitute the Lily Pads.

Strategy 3[]

Bobsled Bonanza No Jalapeno

Alternate strategy in action

Plants needed:

The player will be most vulnerable at the beginning. Get a double column of Sunflowers up fast and three in rows 1 and 6. Plant a Cattail after the first eight Sunflowers and as soon as they finish their cooldown after that. Plant Potato Mines as soon as they are available, but prioritize Spikerocks. If a Zombie Bobsled Team makes it past the ice in an unprotected row, drop a Wall-nut, wait for them to bunch up, and use a Squash. Use the Squash, Jalapeno, Cherry Bomb, and Spikeweed.

Strategy 4[]

This strategy is so simple, nine words can describe it: two columns of Sunflowers and two columns of Gloom-shrooms. Nothing will get past it.

Note: The trick is building it. The iOS version only has 3 ice free columns, and the bobsledders will overrun you early. You need a lot of defense before you can build the columns.

Strategy 5[]

Plant eight Sunflowers on the first and second columns at the 1st, 2nd, 5th, and 6th rows. In front of the Sunflowers, plant at least two Peashooters at every lane. Plant two Peashooters for the pool lanes as well, on top of Lily Pad, to have defense against Ducky Tube Zombies. Melt the ice as soon as possible with Jalapeno. After melting ice, add Spikeweeds and upgrade to Spikerocks as soon as possible to prevent more ice from coming in. Plant Cattail and Wall-nut or Tall-nuts for more defense.

Strategy 6 - The Armageddon Method[]

Plants needed:

Plant a minimum of eight Sunflowers in the leftmost ranks. Use the Squash (cheap) wherever possible to stomp Zombonis, and plant Potato Mines (cheap and quick to regenerate) as backup Zomboni killers and to take out entire Bobsled Teams. As things get more chaotic, move up to the heavier explosives. When things get really crowded, place a Doom-shroom on a Lily Pad midway down the pool, then drop a Coffee Bean on it to detonate and clear the yard nearly fence-to-fence. Clean up smaller groups with Cherry Bombs (if they are compact) or Jalapenos (if they are strung out along the file). Bide your time and wait until the last possible moment to detonate your Doom-shrooms; they take a long time to regenerate and the longer you wait, the more zombies will enter the yard (and the kill zone). If you wait too long and miss a few, or want to wait longer to draw more in, or need a few more seconds for a plant to recharge or to gather more sun, drop in a Wall-nut to slow ’em down, bunch ’em up, and give you more time to Squash ’em or blast ’em. Try to reserve the Jalapeno as your ace-in-the-hole; if your explosives timing is off and you miss a few zombies, you can use it to zap the endangered file. If you can, wait while they eat a Sunflower or two (easily replaced) and you may also be able to nail a Zomboni or Bobsled entering from the right as a bonus.

Strategy 7[]

Pick the following plants:

If you have 9 slots, pick the Torchwood, and if 10 slots, pick the Twin Sunflower.

Procedure:

  • Plant Sunflowers on the first two columns of the lawn (making you have 12 Sunflowers).
  • If a Zombie Bobsled Team appears and your two Jalapenos are still recharging, plant a Repeater immediately. (I assume that you have enough sun for it at this point.)
  • You must have planted Repeaters on the third column (and later on, probably on the fourth) before or during the next huge wave of zombies.
  • Use again the Jalapeno when a row gets huge amount of ice. (Use the Imitater if the zombies are far away and use the real one if the zombies are near.)
  • If there are too many Zombie Bobsled Teams in one row, use the Cherry Bomb in the middle of them. Reserve your Jalapenos for urgent uses. Don't waste them on rows with just ice and no zombies! If a Zomboni crushes your Repeater, use the Squash to prevent them from proceeding to your house.
  • If you don't have the Imitater pick Spikerock instead.

Strategy 8 - Starfruit Method[]

This method is a cheap, 4-Slot, no Jalapeno, no Imitater method that works even with bad luck.

Plant Sunflowers in the back and build up Starfruit in the pool while you hold the initial waves off with Potato Mines, Squash and Jalapenos. Once the pool is full of Starfruit, nothing can get past them.

4-slot, no Jalapeno version:

Follow the same pattern as above: Sunflower in the back two rows, Starfruit in the pool. Destroy early Zombonis with Squash. Let early Bobsleds through to the Lawn Mowers, then rebuild Sunflowers in the row. Once you get 3 columns x 2 rows = 6 total Starfruit in the pool, members of a Zombie Bobsled Team will be killed shortly after dismounting. Fill in a few more Starfruit to keep up with larger waves of Zombies. Then fill in space with whatever you want—bring Marigolds to farm money, Twin Sunflowers to get the Sunny Days achievement, or whatever you like; the level plays itself after that.

You can save yourself headaches in the early waves by bringing these optional plants:

These can prevent any Zombie Bobsled Teams from getting through and make the level a bit less hectic, but the strategy should succeed without them.

Strategy 9[]

Plant Sunflowers on row 1 and six more in the pool as soon as you can. When the first Zomboni or Zombie Bobsled Team appears plant Spikeweed and a Peashooter on that row. Keep strengthening your defenses, and replace the ground Sunflowers with Peashooters or Repeaters. On water place Tangle Kelps.

Strategy 10[]

Choose these plants:

  • Sunflower
  • Lily Pad
  • Repeater
  • Jalapeno
  • Cherry Bomb
  • Squash
  • Spikeweed
  • Spikerock

Plant 8 Sunflowers on land. If a Zomboni appears, plant Spikeweed or Squash. If a Zombie Bobsled Team appear, plant a Jalapeno or Cherry Bomb (only when Jalapeno recharging). If you melt the ice, plant Spikerock or Spikeweed to stop Zombonis making ice trails. Plant Repeater as soon as you finish planting the 8 Sunflowers. If your Spikerock or Spikeweed on front destroyed, use Squash for some Zomboni.

Strategy 11[]

You'll need these plants:

  • Squash
  • Spikeweed
  • Spikerock
  • Sunflower
  • Lily Pad
  • Peashooter
  • Potato Mine
  • Imitater Potato Mine (optional)

Plant Sunflowers nearest to your Lawn Mowers in 1 column, on land and in the pool. Use Potato Mines for the Zombie Bobsled Teams and Squashes for the Zombonis. Then, before the first flag, make sure your put Peashooters in the pool. At the start of the game, the ice trails go all the way up to the 5th spot, so there are 4 empty lawn spaces. Because you have put a Sunflower in one of the lawn spaces, you need to fill the 3 other empty lawn spaces with Spikerocks. For the first Spikeweed placed, you need to upgrade it to a Spikerock (optional).

Strategy 12[]

Your plants should be:

  • Jalapeno
  • Imitater Jalapeno
  • Spikeweed
  • Spikerock
  • Repeater
  • Tall-nut
  • Sunflower
  • Lily Pad
  • Melon-pult
  • Chomper (optional)
  • Squash (optional but recommended)

Start by planting lots of Sunflowers. If you see a Zomboni, plant a Spikeweed, Chomper, or Squash. If you see a Zombie Bobsled Team, use a Jalapeno/Imitater Jalapeno. If you see lots of them, plant Chompers. Also, plant Repeaters as soon as possible. If you melted ice, put Tall-nuts two squares in front of them. Plant Spikerocks as quick as possible (at least one before the first flag.) After a full column of Repeaters, add Melon-pults and keep planting Spikerock. Just in case, plant Chompers 2 rows behind Spikerock. Keep this up and you'll win!

Strategy 13[]

To do this, you're gonna need these plants:

  • Sunflower
  • Potato Mine
  • Imitater Potato Mine
  • Lily Pad
  • Twin Sunflower
  • Cattail
  • Repeater
  • Coffee Bean
  • Doom-shroom

Plant Sunflowers at the back, then plant 4 Potato Mines and its Imitater version on every 4 ground lanes. Collect some sun, then plant a Cattail. Start upgrading your Sunflowers to Twin Sunflowers. Then plant another Cattail. Go replanting your Potato Mines as soon they detonate. Also plant Cattails. When you reach the second wave, plant your Repeaters behind your Potato Mines. Use your Coffee Bean to detonate your Doom-shroom during each big wave.

Strategy 14[]

For this strategy, you will need:

  • Sunflower
  • Twin Sunflower
  • Lily Pad
  • Jalapeno
  • Spikeweed
  • Spikerock
  • Starfruit
  • Cherry Bomb (Optional, but recommended)

Start by planting the Sunflowers at the back. Then, plant a Twin Sunflower on one of them. When the first zomboni comes, place either a Jalapeno or a Spikeweed and Spikerock. Jalapeno if it's a Zombie Bobsled Team, Spikeweed and Spikerock if it's a Zomboni. If it's a Zombie Bobsled Team, then two more come, use an Imitater Jalapeno and a Cherry Bomb. You'll get less coins if it's a fourth one, because you won't have another instant kill plant and they'll go through your Sunflower. After you put down your first Spikerock, there should be a huge wave of Zombonis. You should put down more Spikeweeds until the next Spikerock is done loading. Once it's done loading, the first huge wave of zombies should come. At this time, put your Starfruits down. If one of your four Spikerocks disappears, put down another one quickly. Keep this up until the final wave, and you win! This strategy will not work on the DS and DSi versions because the plants act very slow.

Strategy 15[]

Plants required:

Start planting Sunflowers on the left side. As a Zomboni appears, use a Spikeweed. If a Bobsled appears, plant Potato Mines on every lane. As the game progresses the columns next to Sunflower should have a Peashooter in a Pumpkin. Every lane should have Spikeweeds upgraded to Spikerocks, and replace quickly if broken. In pool lanes, plant Peashooters in Pumpkins and you can even plant more Sunflowers. With these steps the mini-game is a piece of cake.

Strategy 16[]

Choose these plants:

Beginning:

Get 10 Sunflowers in the back 2 columns (6 on the 1st column, 4 land Sunflowers on the 2nd column.) When a Zomboni arrives, squash it. If a second one comes, plant a Spikeweed. If a Zombie Bobsled Team arrives, use a Jalapeno and Imitater Jalapeno for the second one, Cherry Bombs for the third. while defending against these, plant 2 Cattails in the pool on column 2. The first wave will begin.

Waves 1-end:

Plant Cattails in the pool until they reach the 4th column. While Cattails are recharging, plant Spikerocks on columns 3 and 4. If you have it, put land Cacti on column 2 once you have about 250 sun or plant Chompers in column 5 of the water. Later, replace the pool Sunflowers with Cattails. Finished (for the zombies)

Zombie Yeti:

If you spot the Zombie Yeti, let your Cattails take care of it. If he tries to run away, dig the back Sunflower and put a Jalapeno.

Strategy 17[]

Choose these plants:

Start immediately with planting Sunflowers on the land lanes, in the first two columns (from the house). When you're almost finished, the first zombies should appear. When it's a Zomboni, blow it up with a Potato Mine. When it's a Zombie Bobsled Team, burn it down with a Jalapeno. After you've melted some ice, plant Spikeweed in the first column (from the zombies). Upgrade to Spikerock as soon as possible. Continue doing so until all the ice is gone while also planting extra Spikeweed behind the Spikerock and some Cattails in the water to stop normal Zombies. When the Spikerock starts showing damage, upgrade the Spikeweed behind it to Spikerock. When you have 4-6 Cattails in the water, sit back and enjoy the big zombie massacre!

Strategy 18 (No Sunflower)[]

Using only 3 plants the mini-game can be cleared.

Mainly:

No Sunflowers needed. Although it requires a bit of luck at the start. It is definitely possible.

Strategy 19 - Instant Kills[]

BOBSLED BONANZA INSTANT KILLS

This is what the strategy should look like

Choose the following plants:

  • Lily Pad
  • Squash
  • Cherry Bomb
  • Tangle Kelp
  • Jalapeno
  • Imitater Jalapeno
  • Spikeweed
  • Chomper
  • Sunflower
  • Wall-nut (Optional, don't pick if you only have 9 slots)

Start by planting Sunflowers in the first 4 columns in the pool. After all 8 are in place, start planting 2 columns of Sunflowers on the land lanes. Whenever Zombonis come, plant a Spikeweed or Squash in front to kill them. For Bobsleds, try planting a Chomper at the end of the ice trail, as the Chomper will be able to eat the entire bobsled including all the zombies inside. If the zombies get out before your chance, use a Jalapeno to destroy them, and it will also destroy the ice trail. Use Cherry Bombs whenever large clumps of zombies grouped together, or whenever stray zombies end up without any defenses. You can also use any other of the instant kills for that. Use Tangle Kelp whenever zombies end up in the pool during waves. If you have 10 slots and you chose the Wall-nut, use them to group zombies together before using a Cherry Bomb or Squash. Keep following this strategy, even if it seems to be failing, and you should pull through in the end.

Strategy 20 - Repeater and Spikeweed[]

PVZ Bobsled Bonanza

Victory!

Set up a double column of Sunflowers. Put Repeaters in the third and fourth columns where possible and Torchwood in the fifth column or just in front of a Repeater or two. Defend your pool with Tangle Kelp. Use Spikeweed to defend against incoming Zombonis that you cannot handle with flaming peas. Wall-nuts can be handy keeping bobsledders at bay until the Repeaters can take them out. Jalapenos are also useful when there are too many zombies and before you get all your plants in. Voila! Victory!

Strategy 21[]

Plants needed:

  • Sunflower
  • Lily Pad
  • Spikeweed
  • Spikerock
  • Jalapeno
  • Peashooter
  • Tall-nut
  • (optional) Squash
  • (optional) Cherry Bomb

Strategy:

  • Plant your Sunflowers in the left most column, but not the pool. You should have the column filled with four Sunflowers before the mini-game actually starts.
  • Save up your sun until a zombie (Zombie Bobsled Team or Zomboni) shows up, and use a Jalapeno on that row.
  • A bit of luck is needed here. Save your sun up again, and wait for a Zomboni to appear. Take the Zombie Bobsled Teams out with Peashooters, Tall-nuts and Squashes. (Cherry Bombs use a lot of sun.) When the Zomboni shows up, hopefully you'll have enough sun for a Spikeweed and Spikerock. Plant it in front of the Zomboni, and watch him blow up.
  • If you were lucky, the Zomboni would have showed up in the ice-free column. If not, don't despair! If it didn't, plant a Spikeweed in the column next to your Spikerock. (The side closer to your house.) Why? It takes 3 Spikeweeds (or 1 Spikeweed and 1 Spikerock) to kill a zombie from a Zombie Bobsled Team. There! Unless 9 Zombonis come in that row, it's safe!
  • Do the same for the other ice trails.
  • You'll notice that zombies will start to attack from the pool. they'll only be normal zombies, so just plant 2 Lily Pads on the leftmost column and plant Peashooters on them.
  • When your Spikerocks only have one spike left, dig them up and place them back down again.
  • You won! (Probably.)

Strategy 23[]

Nine plants needed:

  • Sunflower
  • Peashooter
  • Repeater
  • Squash
  • Potato Mine
  • Spikeweed
  • Jalapeno
  • Imitater Potato Mine
  • Lily Pad

Strategy:

  • Plants your Sunflowers on the left side. Do not plant them in the water right now.
  • Once zombies arrives, use a Jalapeno. If you have enough sun, plants Peashooters and Potato Mines.
  • Survive like this until it has no more ice.
  • Then, the zombies will arrive. Put Peashooters. Zombonis will arrive too, so plant Spikeweeds.
  • Once you are ready, plant Lily Pads and put Peashooters and Sunflowers.
  • One time, you'll have a lot of sun. Use them to replace the Peashooters by Repeaters. Plant them in a second column and a third. But not a fourth: you need to keep your sun for the Potato Mines and the Jalapenos.
  • Survive and this level is a piece of cake guaranteed! It's so easy that you'll never use your Lawn Mowers and Pool Cleaners!!!

Strategy 24[]

Plants needed:

Вввв

This strategy (game is modded)

Good and cheap strategy, eh? Plant 4 Sunflowers on the column 1, and 1 Cattail on water. First zombies blow with Potato Mines. Then in front of Sunflowers plant Starfruits, and plant more Cattails on water. That's all.

Strategy 25 - FumeSpikePenoStrategy[]

Plants (not all needed, but recommended):

FumeSpikePenoStrategy

FumeSpikePeno strategy in the middle of action

  • Coffee Bean (needed, essential to wake up the Fume-shrooms)
  • Jalapeno (as of this strategy's purpose, needed, but can be done without it)
  • Spikerock (recommended, to reduce Spikeweed maintenance)
  • Pumpkin (it's really hard to do this strategy without it, as fumes and bobsled landings are a little bit shifty, technically recommended.)

(if you have 9 or 10 slots, fill the rest with placeholders, emergency instants, or something else to take care of the few Pool zombies)

This strategy bases itself on 3 things:

  1. The Fume-shroom's ability to hit every zombie at a medium range in front of it even if it's blocked by another zombie, helping against Bobsleds.
  1. The Spikeweed/rock's ability to destroy Zombonis instantly, and recharging fast enough for continuous use (the Spikeweeds though, the Spikerocks recharge slow)
  1. And finally, the Jalapeno's ability to melt the ice trails(they never leave on their own, and this only leaves us with Zombonis and the few regular Zombies, taken care by the previous two.)

The only hard part is setting up and Spikeweed maintenance.

The setup: Plant Sunflowers, way at the back. Due to where the Zombie Bobsled Team members usually land, it's actually recommended to not plant a second column of Sunflowers, but rather a full column of Sunflowers, including the back of the pool lanes. If you're doing it that way, more likely than not a Zombie Bobsled Team or Zomboni will come before you can plant the last Sunflower. If it's a Zomboni, simply plant a Spikeweed on the rightmost to the ice trail you can plant in the lane where the Zomboni is. If it's a Bobsled Team, plant a Fume-shroom and wake it up. Be aware though; one lucky Zombie Bobsled Team member may be able to get so far to eat the Fume-shroom at times. This is the sole reason you bring the Pumpkin, to protect your Fume-shrooms from a few lucky zombies. After this it's simple. Set your Fume-shrooms to defend the lanes, and maintain Zombonis away with Spikeweeds. You might prefer to use something else to defend the pool, as the Fume-shroom combined with the Coffee Bean and Lily Pad's cost sum up to a total of 175, or that of a Snow Pea. Once you have enough sun, plant a Jalapeno and destroy the ice trails. Later plant a Spikerock. For reference, here are the total costs:

  • Fume-shroom + Coffee Bean = 150 sun
  • Fume-shroom + Coffee Bean + Pumpkin = 275 sun
  • Spikerock (including Spikeweed) = 225 sun
  • Jalapeno + Spikerock (for clearing lanes and keeping them cleared, cost includes the Spikeweed to upgrade to Spikerock) = 350 sun
  • Fume-shroom+Coffee Bean+Lily Pad (if you decide to use the Fume-shrooms for defending the pool) = 175 sun

This strategy is not foolproof though, and it requires some maintenance, but if you feel like using this one, you're free to do so.

Strategy 28 - Instant Kill Strategy[]

You need the following plants:

Potato Mine (only if you have 7 slots)

Cherry Bomb (only if you have 8 slots)

Jalapeno

Doom shroom (Optional, only if you have 10 slots)

Lily Pad

Coffee Bean (only if you took the doom shroom)

Cattail

Spikeweed

Spikerock

Squash

Plant Jalapenos when you see a Zombie Bobsled Team, or a Squash (or a Spikeweed/Spikerock when you don't have Squash available) if you see a Zomboni. Use the other ones only when desperate. Doom-shrooms and Cherry Bombs are expensive, so first use others. Once you have 4 columns of Cattails, you can stop and start erasing the ice tracks with Jalapenos.

Use the sun to plant as many Cattails as possible.

Strategy 29[]

Take the following. Take them in the order they're put in the list - The first ones are the important ones.

Sunflower, Spikeweed, Spikerock, Jalapeno, Lily Pad, Melon-pult, Wall-nut, Squash, Imitater Jalapeno, Whatever you want.

Start out with just planting a bunch of Sunflowers. Don't put any in the pool. When a Zombie Bobsled Team comes, plant a Jalapeno. If it's recharging, use a Wall-nut and Squash combo. If a Zomboni comes, plant a Spikeweed (Upgrade it to Spikerock if possible). If you took Imitater Jalapeno, use it to clear out some ice so you can place a Spikerock. Use Melon-pults to clear out regular Zombies and earlier Zombie Bobsled Teams.

Example ending setup:

s s M . . . . . S

s s M . . . . . S

s M . . . . . . .

s M . . . . . . .

s s M . . . . . S

s s M . . . . . S

s = Sunflower, M = Melon-pult, S = Spikerock.

Strategy 30: Repeater + Torchwood[]

Sunflower

Lily Pad

Repeater

Spikeweed

Torchwood

Squash

Imitater (Squash, optional)

Jalapeno (optional)

Cattail (optional)

Twin Sunflower (optional)

Tall-nut (optional)

Spikerock (optional)

RP RP TW TN SW .. .. .. ..

RP RP TW TN SW .. .. .. ..

RP = Repeater

CT = Cattail

SF = Sunflower

TW = Torchwood

TN = Tall-nut

SW = Spikeweed

In reality, this approach works fine with only the repeaters and torchwoods unless two Zombonis approach in the same lane at the same time. Spikeweed, spikerock, and instants can be used in special cases or before the repeaters and torchwoods are set up. The sunflowers should probably be planted in the grass lanes until there is enough sun to migrate them to the pool.

Strategy 31: Explosive Strategy[]

(requires 8 slots) Potato Mine

Imitater Potato Mine

Sunflower

Kernel-pult

Cob Cannon

Lily Pad

Cattail

Squash

Sunflower Cob Cannon Cob Cannon Potato Mine
Sunflower Cob Cannon Cob Cannon Potato Mine
Sunflower Cattail Cattail
Sunflower

Cattail

Cattail
Sunflower Cob Cannon Cob Cannon Potato Mine
Sunflower Cob Cannon Cob Cannon Potato Mine

Now, your main focus will be the Potato Mines. Always have 50 sun in reserve to plant them. Use your backup sun to make Cob Cannons. They will become your main weapon after wave 2, though before that they're only for if you can't get a Potato Mine fast enough. Cattail is for the water zombies. If a Cob Cannon is defeated, it's ok; it's replaceable. If 2 or 3 die, THEN it could become a problem. Either way, the Squash is for when you can't get a Potato Mine fast enough to kill a Zomboni. Anyway, good luck!

Strategy 32 (No Twin Sunflower)[]

Note: You must have at least 8 seed slots to do this strategy.

Pick the following:

Sunflower

Lily Pad

Repeater

Wall-nut

Cattail

Jalapeno

Spikeweed

Potato Mine

Any other instant kills

Start with some Sunflowers, don't plant any in the pool, but in square shapes closest to the house. If a Zombie Bobsled Team comes, use a Jalapeno or Potato Mine. If a Zomboni comes, use a Potato Mine or Spikeweed. Then, put some Lily Pads in the pool, and if charged, a Cattail. Once you have at least 2 or 3 Cattails, plant a row of Repeaters, but not in the pool, and keep planting Cattails also. Put Wall-nuts in front of the Repeaters.  Once you have 8 Cattails, put Wall-nuts in front of them. Remember to keep using Spikeweeds, Jalapenos, and Potato Mines against Zombonis and Zombie Bobsled Teams.

Strategy 33 (Survival Endless style)[]

Requires 10 seed slots to do this.

Sunflower

Imitater (Sunflower)

Twin Sunflower (Optional)

Lily Pad

Jalapeno

Spikeweed

Spikerock

Coffee Bean

Fume-shroom

Gloom-shroom

Place at least 3-7 Sunflowers and Imitater Sunflowers in column 1 and 2 and produce at least 125-200 sun until the Zombonis or the Bobsled Teams will come. If the Zomboni or the Bobsled Team comes, use a Jalapeno. Do NOT put Fume-shrooms and Gloom-shrooms YET until you place all the Sunflowers. Put any Spikeweeds/Spikerocks in case the Zombonis come closer to your plants.

Strategy 34: A Melon-peno Victory[]

Requires 8 or more seed slots.

Plants Recommended:

Start the mini-game with Sunflowers. Plant 3 of them on each column EXCEPT in the pool, leave that for later. When the Zombonis start to appear, plant Spikeweeds where it goes to instantly kill it. When Bobsled Zombies appear, bring in a Jalapeno (not the imitated one) quickly. Because of the Jalapeno's slow recharge when another Bobsled Team appears, you can now bring in the imitated Jalapeno. When the next wave comes, plant Peashooters on the grass because there will be normal zombies appearing along with Ducky Tube Zombies for them plant Lily Pads quickly with Peashooters upon them. When you get a chance, plant Melon-pults in random places and then the Winter Melons when you receive enough sun. If you have more than 8 slots, you can plant Wall-nuts or Tall-nuts when you get the chance and block zombies.

Strategy 35: Eat Cars and Bobsleds[]

Needed 10 seed slots for this strategy. Rake needed

Plants Needed:

  • Sunflower
  • Chomper
  • Potato Mine
  • Squash
  • Jalapeno
  • Cherry Bomb
  • Imitater Cherry Bomb
  • Lily Pad
  • Tangle Kelp
  • Spikeweed

Plant 2 lanes of Sunflowers. Kill the first zombie with the rake. Use Chomper for Bobsleds (Note : Chomper will eat the whole Bobsled with all 4 zombies riding it). Use Cherry Bomb and Tangle Kelp for pool zombies. Still use Chomper for Zombonis. The other instant kills are for emergency.

Strategy 36: Fume-cattail strategy[]

First, plant a column of Sunflowers (not in water) and recollect sun for Fume-shrooms. If a Zombie Bobsled Team appears, put a Fume-shroom and Coffee Bean. If a Zomboni comes, put a Spikeweed at the final of the ice trail. When you get a column of Fume-shrooms, begins to put Twin Sunflowers and Cattails (at least 10 for the final wave) and Pumpkin the last two (recommended) Pumpkin the Fume-shrooms, and your army will be unbeatable!

Strategy 37[]

Bobsled bonanza
  • Required plants:
    • Sunflower
    • Lily Pad
    • Cattail
    • Spikeweed
    • Spikerock
    • Jalapeno
    • Imitater Jalapeno
    • Potato Mine
    • Squash
    • Cherry Bomb

Sunflowers should be planted only in the pool, so if sun is a little bit tight at the start it doesn't matter. Use Squashes, Potato Mines, Jalapenos and Cherry Bombs to get rid of any Bobsled Teams or Zombonis that appear at the start.

Once about six to eight Sunflowers have been planted (only in the pool), dig up the back Sunflower and plant a Cattail. Use Jalapenos and Spikeweeds to fend off the horde as it comes in. Upgrade any Spikeweeds whenever possible. By about three flags in you should have got four Spikerocks in with no ice trails present. Four or five Cattails are enough so do not demolish all of your Sunflowers for Cattails.

Strategy 38: Pool’s Closed + Don’t Pea in the Pool + Chill Out[]

Pick the following:

  • Sunflower
  • Fume-Shroom
  • Coffee Bean
  • Gloom-Shroom
  • Jalapeño
  • Spikeweed
  • Wall-Nut

All other plants are unneeded.

Start by planting all 8 Sunflowers in the first two columns as fast as possible. Do not plant anything other than sunflowers unless you’re sure that it won’t delay your Sunflower placement.

If a Zomboni is the first thing to come, buy a Spikeweed to destroy it. If a Bobsled is the first to come then burn it with a Jalapeño.

Continue buying Spikeweeds against Zombonis. If a Bobsled comes and you don’t have a Jalapeño cooled down and ready, place a Wall-Nut to stall it. (Don’t worry about the fact that it gets eaten quickly, as the zombies are about to get destroyed by either a Gloom-Shroom or a Jalapeño.)

Once you have close to 300 sun, buy a Gloom-Shroom in the third column, on either the second or fifth row depending on which half has more snow. Burn the other trail of snow ASAP so that one half has no snow at all.

Continue buying Spikeweeds against Zombonis. Once your Gloom-Shroom has cooled down again, plant it in the third column of the second or fifth row (whichever you didn’t plant before).

Once you have 2 Gloom-Shrooms it’s game over, you win. Keep planting Gloom-Shrooms in the second and fifth rows and kill Zombonis with Spikeweeds. At some point, you’ll be able to destroy Zombonis in the first and sixth rows without needing to use Spikeweeds. Make sure you keep using Spikeweeds to destroy Zombonis in the second and fifth rows, incinerate at least 3 Bobsleds with Jalapeños, and you’ll win!

Strategy 39: An Army Of Melons And Cats[]

Sunflower

Twin Sunflower

Peashooter

Melon Pult

Cattail

Squash

Jalapeño

Lily Pad

Start by placing 2 columns of Sunflowers. Build a column of Peashooters, minus the water lanes. The moment you can get a Cattail, place one. Start upgrading the Sunflowers to Twin Sunflowers. Once the first Zomboni appears, start replacing the Peashooters with Melon-Pults, and start using Jalapeños to clear the ice on the non-water lanes. Every time you can place a Cattail, place it. By the time you’re done placing Melon-Pults, you should have 12. 3 on each ground lane. If things get messy, use a Squash or a Jalapeño. This will finish the level easily.

Strategy 40: Cats and Spikes[]

Plants_vs_Zombies_Bobsled_Bonanza

Plants vs Zombies Bobsled Bonanza

Plants vs Zombies Bobsled Bonanza

Plants needed:

This strategy should be very effective as a spikerock costs only 225 suns but can take 9 Zombonis, whereas the equivalent squash cost would be 450 suns, whihc is a 50% saving.

Start by planting sunflowers for the first 2 columns, skipping the pool for now. Plant a Jalapeno for the first Zomboni you see, a Wall-nut + Peashooter behind for the first Bobsled you see. You may need to use a squash to help deal with them. Save up for a Cattail which would help you deal with the Bobsleds. Start planting your Spikeweed + Spikerock upgrade whenever possible on the rightmost columns after you used Jalapenos on those rows. You should end up with 2 leftmost columns of Sunflowers including on the pool, about 4 Cattails in the 4 squares after that in the pool, and at least 1 Spikerock on the rightmost square for each row. You should have excess sun by now so just keep adding Spikeweeds to the rows.

Same thing can be done with 8 slots, but you will just leave the ice as they are, and plant the Spikerocks immediately after that.

The Peashooters, Wall-nuts and Squashes should be for the early game as you set up your Cattails and Spikerocks, and can be removed if you need space.

Strategy 41[]

Plants needed:

Plant a column of sunflowers on the first column. Plant 2 Sunflowers on column 2 on pool lanes. When the Potato Mine is available, plant it on any row at the end of ice trail. When a Zomboni or a Zombie Bobsled Team appeared, plant a Chomper except when they appeared on the Potato Mine lane. Continue planting Sunflowers and 2 columns of  Chompers. When sun allowed, plant a Starfruit on the pool lanes. When you are done planting Chompers, plant more Starfruit on pool lanes. If you want, you can melt the ice and then plant a Spikerockat the end. DO NOT a Starfruit at the land. If you have at least 10 starfruits, then simply collect sun and money while watching the game run itself.

Strategy 42, 7-8 slots strategy[]

Bobsled Bonanza Strategy

The minigame is done!

Plants you'll need:

At the start, spam Sunflowers as much as you can and put Potato Mines for early zombies (around the first 3 or 4 zombies), then, you can start putting some Twin Sunflowers and after it Lily Pads and Cattails. For early Zombonis, use Potato Mine, Squash or Jalapeno, but try saving Jalapenos as much as you can for long ice trails. When you have around 4 or 5 cattails, the game is basically done, with instants, it makes the minigame no problem. The Threepeaters aren't really there for any reason, so if you don't want to, you can just ignore that plant, it's not necessary at all.

Strategy 43: Six Instant Killers[]

This strategy relies on using six instant killers, and is recommended to use if you want to use only instant killers. Plant a Potato Mine at the end of the ice trails whenever you can, use Squashes in order to kill Zombonis and crowded Zombie Bobsled Teams, plant Tangle Kelps in the three rightmost columns in the pool, stockpile Doom-shrooms in the center of the pool, and use Cherry Bombs and Jalapenos when you need.

No Sunflower Strategy[]

Another strategy[]

No Sunflower and no aquatic plants[]

Strategy 44:Repeaters and Cats[]

Plants needed:

Start by planting two columns of sunflowers in the back. Place two lily pads in each lane in the pool(That will be important later). When a Zomboni arrives, use a spikeweed to stop it. If a bobsled team arrives, use a jalapeno. Eventually, you can use the twin sunflower if available to be able to produce more sun. Place repeaters on the ground lanes, where the zombonis and bobsled teams are. You should have at least two planted by the end of the first wave. This will allow you to conserve more sun for when you absolutely need a jalapeno or spikeweed. Also place cattails on the extra lily pads you planted earlier, allowing you to attack the pool zombies that appear every wave and deal more damage overall. You should still plant spike weeds and jalapenos in emergencies though, especially in the final two flags where you will need them most. Eventually, you should have two repeaters in each ground lane and two cattails in both of the pool lanes, allowing you to finish this minigame easily, with or without pool cleaners.
